Photos  Badlands 9/2003  White River area, SD [Back] [Next] Took this while hiking along the White River in SD. Lewis and Clark had diverted from the Missouri up the White to explore the plains. They described nearly limitless heards of buffalo here. We saw no bison but we did see a golden eagle, our first ever. 9/28/2003
